Because we want you to find the firm that’s the best fit for you as efficiently as possible, we thought it would be helpful to let you know up front some of the things we don’t do. This list is of course not all-inclusive.
- Tax preparation (but we will coordinate with your tax preparer as needed)
- Accounting
- Estate planning document preparation — wills, trusts, powers of attorney (but we will coordinate with your attorney as needed)
- Legal advice
- Bankruptcy
- Divorce financial planning (we’re happy to help you create a long-term plan after the settlement is determined)
- Debt management
- Health insurance policy comparisons (we refer you to a health insurance / Medicare broker for this and then review and incorporate the results into your plan)
- Sell insurance or annuities (we review these products, determine if / how they may fit into your financial plan, and recommend what type / how much of these products you may need and refer you to a broker for implementation if needed)
- Market timing advice (but we will help you come up with a plan you’re comfortable with for investing a lump sum, whether it’s dollar-cost averaging gradually into the market or going in all at once)
- Pick individual stocks (but we will help you figure out a good exit strategy from existing stock positions that balances diversification and tax consequences)
- Recommend commission-based mutual funds (we only use no-load, low-cost investment products)
- Medicaid qualification planning
