Congratulations to Planning Associate Rachel Songer for earning the Certified College Planning Specialist® (CCPS) designation. Rachel has been with Keener Financial Planning in Keller since 2013 and this year decided to develop a deeper level of expertise in college planning.
Rachel says, “Being in my mid-20s, many of my friends started asking me about how to plan for college for their kids. I already had a broad-based understanding of college funding strategies from college and studying for the CFP® exam, but I wanted to dig deeper. Helping parents find the most tax-efficient and effective way to support their kids’ college goals while staying on track for their own retirement is really rewarding.”
The CCPS® curriculum covers three modules on Paying for College, Saving for College, and Advanced College Funding Strategies. Rachel successfully completed the study and exams for each component.
